Over a number of years and through my own mindful practices I have become comfortable in knowing that I have been able to translate the knowledge that I have acquired into wisdom.
As stated on lifehack.org: "If knowledge is information, wisdom is the understanding and application of that knowledge and insight is the awareness of the underlying essence of a truth".

I trust you will find below very insightful.

When we have societal issues that relate to a higher power than the individual itself then the way to resolution can never be at an individual level.
This is where we are challenged at the moment. We are seeing and are being told that the issues we are facing are at an individual level; an us v them scenario.
Due to this, those who believe themselves to be in “power” (deliberate use of lower case) are looking to solve them via mandates, directions, legislation, manipulation, coercion etc. All of which are driven from a point of negativity and low energy levels from a consciousness perspective. In real terms, those who operate from a level of fear, grief, anger, frustration etc (which is 80% of the population) are being attracted to those in “power” who are operating from the same levels. Hence, the overwhelming alignment.
To truly solve the global issues that we are facing today (Pandemics, Racism, Climate Change), we need to take a holistic approach and heal at a global level. We need to raise our level of consciousness. How do we do this?
We must learn to come from a place of Courage, Willingness, Acceptance, Reason and above all LOVE (deliberate use of capitals). We are in this together. There is no us and them. If one of us suffers, we all suffer. If one of us is sick, then we all feel that sickness. When one of us dies, we all feel that death.
The societal issues will be solved by learning how to LOVE again.
For anyone who is interested in learning how they can become truly empowered and tap into the positive attractor fields that facilitate abundance, then reach out. I am always up for a chat.

How we see others is a reflection of how we see ourselves.
Are you prone to being judgemental of others ideas, thoughts and opinions?
Are you able to see each person for who they are, or do you always find faults in others?
Are you easily drawn into conversations that result in you talking about others in a non-constructive way?
Now, stop and focus on how you see and talk about yourself.
Are you constantly judging yourself and your actions?
Are you happy with the person that you see in the mirror?
Do you put yourself down in front of others; only tell those stories where you are the victim?
If you truly want to understand how you see and talk about yourself, then take time to listen to how you talk about others and how you see others.
If you are prone to be negative towards others then this is how you truly see yourself and is your projection of this viewpoint onto others.
The way to move forward is to start working on yourself. Work on your own internal dialogue, self-love, self-worth and self-confidence. Once you are truly comfortable in who you are, then you will no longer find a need to judge others or talk disparagingly about them.

Resistance and stubbornness are the 2 key drivers of anxiety, stress, fear and depression.
If we choose to hold onto the past or not forgive ourselves and/or others for what has taken place then we live in a world of resistance. We feel everything is pushing back against us. That force is resistance. The willingness to not to let go is stubbornness.
Then worrying about what others think, how we look, how we are perceived, constantly seeking validation and people pleasing is our egos trying to hold onto our old beliefs as a result of our own conditioning. These feelings are again driven by resistance to change due to stubbornness.

  • What if we just decided to let go?
  • What if we stopped resisting?
  • What if we stopped being stubborn?
  • What if we stopped holding onto old habits, old ways and old beliefs?
What if we chose to go with the flow?
How easy would life be then.

As it says: Let it go, it will flow

How often do you go for a walk only taking with you your 5 senses?
In this day of technology and externalisation, it is easy to head out for a walk either talking on the phone or listening to your favourite podcast or music. Often we also need someone else to walk with us as a means of distraction.
Next time you go for a walk try this. Just go alone and take with you your 5 senses. You will be amazed at the experience.
When you walk, look around you and see the amazing colours of the neighbourhood be it the houses, the gardens or the plants along the pathway, listen for the sound of the birds and the wind, smell the aromas from the trees, flowers and mown grass, feel the warmth of the sun or the freshness of the morning air on your skin and then taste the clean, fresh air.
Do this and you will feel connected and alive. Doing a simple walk like this for 30 minutes every day will give you life. It makes you feel like living; it helps you realise that you are just one small, yet very important piece in this amazing puzzle.
Now try this: Stop walking for 60 seconds. Pick out one small object be it a leaf, a blade of grass, a petal on a flower, a small insect. Something small. Now when you are looking at it (which is the first sense), bring in the remaining senses. Can you feel it’s presence, can you smell it, can you hear it and can you taste it (not to eat, just it’s essence). Now remember that this little object is as important in the larger scheme as we are. We are all pieces in the same puzzle.
When your 60 seconds is up, be grateful and say thanks for it being in existence as it just enabled you to be fully present and connected for 60 seconds with not a worry in the world.
Now start to remember what it was like to be a child who was always present and was always fascinated by the smallest, simplest things in life. Back then you had no cares and life just took care of itself. Maybe it’s time to relearn how two live like that again.

There is a well known fact that our minds are only capable of thinking about one thing at a time.
Therefore, if you are being challenged by anxiety or depression or just want to feel present at any point in time then head outdoors and do one or all of the following 3 things:
  • Hug a tree
  • Smell a flower
  • Walk barefoot in the grass.
Whilst doing that be completely present with what you are doing. Feel the texture and denseness of the tree, take in the aroma of the scent of the flower; feel the grounding effects of the grass under your feet and in between your toes.
We are already connected and one with nature; along the way we have fallen out of that knowledge. This simple practice on a regular basis (recommended daily) will enable you to reconnect with what already exists within you.
Now here is the thing. Your ego will tell you how silly this will look, how cold the grass will be, that smelling flowers is only for little kids and women. So to all of you out there who are not in touch with your feminine side (energetically it exists in all of us), use this time to just let go. Let go and allow yourself to enjoy the natural, healthy, healing benefits that nature provides us every single day. And the kicker is that it is free. No medical referrals, no prescriptions, no hit to the back pocket, just one hundred percent free and readily available all around you.
If you struggle from not being able to sleep then find yourself your nearest lavender plant. It is known to have amazing healing qualities and in particular with aiding sleep. Put some beside your bed of a night time and you will relearn how to sleep like a baby.
So as above, head outdoors, find a tree, find a flower and/or find some grass and you will be where you are meant to be; just present.

Learn to calm your mind and you will simplify your life.
We often look at great authors/play-writers like Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, Virginia Woolf, Agatha Christie etc as the great story tellers of our time.
The reality is, the greatest story teller of your time is your own mind. Our minds are constantly telling us stories and tales based on beliefs, conditioning, observations, assumptions, here say and innuendo.
The trouble is, most of those stories are actually fiction. There is little to no basis for the story as it is something that we or others have made up over a period of time.
For example, let’s look at the term perfection. We all have a view in our head of what perfection is and our mids constantly tell us that unless we are perfect then we are not good enough, not worthy enough.
Then it creates the follow up best seller called comparison. This follow on story has your mind telling you that compared to others you are not strong enough, handsome enough, beautiful enough, skinny enough, intelligent enough.
Now the mind is on a roll and moves to the final book in the trilogy called judgement. This story has you judging yourself and others over and over again. I am better than that person, however not as good as the person over there. It then goes on to self judgement about how silly we are that we made a mistake or said something wrong or “made a fool of ourselves”.
Once you finish the trilogy, the mind has taken full control and we live in this constant circular pattern of seeking perfection, making comparisons, making judgements and the stories go on and on and on.
So, now we it’s time to take control and calm your mind. If you can calm your mind, slow down the story telling and start to change the narrative to focus on non-fictional stories (the real “TRUTH), then you can start to live a much easier, simpler life.
The good news is that you can start to do that now, today. Listen to the story and if it is fiction, then ignore the message. If it is non-fiction (the TRUTH), then follow the message and start to live a simple life.

It is said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to achieve Mastery. This is often viewed in the world of professional sports, martial arts, meditation or any other specific discipline.
Interestingly we do not apply this same logic to our own day to day lives.
So let me break this down.
From around the age of 3 to 4 we move away from being innocent children to having our belief systems defined by those around us. By the time we have reached 16, we have had 70,000 hours of time to Master who we are; our persona (12 years, 365 days, 16 hours per day).
As a result, we have defined ourselves, our habits, our conditioning, our limiting beliefs, how we use words and overall how we behave every given day.
Now, what if your personal Mastery was based on false information? What if you found out that this is not who you truly are however, just a reflection of the persona you had to take on to survive as a child?
This could result in you now operating under one of the following personas:
  • Intimidator (aggressive, angry, frustrated, violent, abusive)
  • Interrogator (intrusive, demanding, poking, prodding, opinionated, gossiper)
  • Aloof (evasive, stand offish, closed, unemotional, shy, reserved, insular)
  • Victim (hard done by, poor me, why me, whinger, complainer)
What if you now had the power to change all that? The answer is: You do.
You no longer need to be that person. Given you created this persona based on the 70,000+ hours of practice, then maybe it’s time to Master a new persona, one that allows you to be who you truly are…

Let go of your stories
Are you playing the same old story over and over in your mind?
Is this the story where you tell yourself you are not good enough, you’ve had a tough life, you do not deserve happiness, peace, calm…
How often do you hear the voice in your head retelling the same old negative story when you make a mistake or do something embarrassing or recall some old trauma or past event…
As the author of your story, you can choose to relive the past stories, hang on to them and allow them to define who you are…
Or, how about you sit down and write yourself a new story; one that provides hope, peace, happiness, joy and calmness in your life.
You can choose to see life through a new story, one where you are the hero, one where you are perfect, one where you are comfortable in being just you.
A story where you are love and are loved, where you are peace and provide peace, where you are calm and provide calmness, where you are true to you…
If you are unhappy with your current story and are not sure how to start the rewriting process then let me know. I am more than happy to provide guidance on how you can become the author of your amazing new story…

Do you allow your past self to determine who your future self will be?
Do you ever hear yourself playing the "poor me" or "victim" card?
As hard as it is to fathom, we can choose our mindset and our view of ourselves, our relationships, our colleagues, our responses and how we remember the past.
Given that choice, then would your life and the world around you be so much better if the trauma's and hardships were seen as lessons that we can learn and grow from?
You do not have to be your parents or your upbringing; you can choose to take different path in life, you can choose a different belief system and you can choose who you want to be.

How do you view fear? Does it control you? Do you know how to manage it, overcome it?
What if you knew that fear was nothing more than a story that you’ve made up and believed in based on your perception of your conditioned truth.
Have you ever wondered why some people can hold spiders and snakes or jump off cliffs and out of planes? Have you ever wondered why people spend their lives fearing death (theirs and their loved ones) and therefore forget how to live life to it’s fullest?
Fear has nothing to do with the external thing that you are afraid of. You have created your own perception of what you need to be afraid of. No one else can make you afraid, ever. This is a choice (be it conscious or sub-conscious) that you have made.
So, in simple terms: change your perception of what you fear and then the fear itself will no longer exist.
And yes, it is as easy as that. You get to choose, take responsibility, take accountability and just do it. No one else will do it for you.

Since birth we have been conditioned to be in control.
When we cried we were told to stop crying.
When we yelled in anger we were told to control our rage.
When we screamed in delight we were told to tone it down.
When we talked fast and loud we were told to quieten down.
When as an adult we are childish and playful we are told to grow up.
We have been conditioned to control every aspect of our lives from the moment we wake up to the time we go to bed.
And then when we have amazing dreams and try explaining them we are told that they mean nothing and not to be silly.
We need to recondition ourselves to relinquish control and just surrender to what it.
Surrender to who we are, surrender to the message and that is being sent to us by our ancestors and above all surrender to what is.
Once you do that, the rest will take care of itself and we will live a beautiful, free, peaceful, loving life.

From the time of our birth we are told who we should be by parents, teachers, uncles, aunties, friends etc.
Most of the time this is who they think we should be however, this may not be who we truly are.
We were all placed here for a reason, not the material, egotistical reason, the deep ancestral, spiritual reason.
Our journey is why we are here. Not to play out the journey that others think we need to be on.
So, dive deep into your heart, deep into your soul with silence and enquiry and listen to what it tells you. What you hear is the journey that you are meant to be on.
Once you know that journey then become the person you are meant to be and stop listening to those telling you who you should be.
Then learn to live in peace and harmony knowing you are being who you should be.

Be true to who you are, the inner being that lives deep in your heart.
The inner being who guides you and lets you know right from wrong.
The inner being that is your intuition, your gut feel, the teller of all truth, the holder of all knowledge.
The inner being who knows why you are here, what your true purpose is and what your true calling is.
The inner being that brings love, compassion and sees everything as one equal, connected body.
The inner being that can never be rejected, hurt, shamed or denigrated as it knows who you are and only sees love.
By shifting from your outer being (your mind) to your inner being (your heart) you will learn to surrender and find true, inner peace and calm.

Do you slow down and take time to love the journey you are on or are you in a rush to get to your destination?
In our “busy” lives we can often forget to slow down and just enjoy this amazing journey that we are on.
Even when driving, slow down and open your eyes and heart and you’d be amazed at what you see.
Do you notice the birds flying by or perched on electricity poles and wires, do you see the ever changing landscape around you, do you notice the colours of the buildings or trees on the sidewalk.
All of this is possible whilst cruising along. When walking, riding or running are you listening to the wind in the trees or the bird’s singing?
It’s easy to rush to our destination, the problem is you may have missed some beautiful moments along the way.
So, slow down and love the journey that you are on as the destination will take care of itself.
